Cancer Patient Receives Christ

Anna *, a university student and avid soccer player from Birmingham, England, was recently diagnosed with spinal cancer. Living with excruciating pain and on as little as 2 hours of sleep a night, she was running out of hope.

But then she sent in a message through one of our partners’ sites.

“Following a scary health diagnosis in November, as my health deteriorates, I'm becoming more and more emotional and finding it harder to want to live everyday.... Distraction doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm exhausted. I can't sleep. But I don't want to speak aloud because I don't want to burden anyone else with my struggles and stress. I'm just lost as to what to do next, please help.”

The conversation progressed with the mentor expressing empathy for her very difficult situation. After a few exchanges, the mentor was able to share how faith in Jesus has given her great strength to face the challenges of life.

Anna replied, “I wouldn't say I have a relationship as such with God but I'm willing to try anything because I feel completely lost....”

The mentor then shared a clear gospel presentation. After a few more emails, Anna confirmed that she prayed the prayer of salvation suggested to her. She was starting to feel a change in her spirit despite the pain and dim prognosis.

“I found that this has lifted a burden from my shoulders massively already. Thank you so much. Right, a new week is a fresh start.”

The mentor then rejoiced with her and sent her materials to read to strengthen her trust in Jesus.
